The Prime Ministers announcement that dental practices can open from June 8th has caught the profession by surprise but we have been preparing to open in the background.
On top of our usual deep cleaning protocols we have had the practice fogged with an antiviral and antibacterial disinfectant that remains active on surfaces for several months. We have also procured extra PPE and equipment to help to keep you and our colleagues safe.
We are pleased to announce that we will be implementing a “Contactless Visit” at the practice: a way that you can still attend your dental appointments, but with peace of mind that all unnecessary points of contact have been removed.
This will involve online completion of your medical history, patient details and any other forms we would normally ask you to complete in the practice.
This includes your arrival and departure protocol through reception. Some of this information has been included below and you will receive more information in the next week or so.
The new protocols will involve telephone triaging before your appointment and your clinician will also call you to discuss the plan of action for your appointment. You will be asked to wait until you are called before you enter the practice and social distancing measures will be applied. Your temperature will be taken with a contactless thermometer and you will be asked to wash your hands and use hand sanitiser, rinse your mouth with an anti-virus mouthwash and wear a mask until you are called in to the surgery.
Initially we will be seeing urgent and emergency cases, followed by patients who have incomplete treatment before routine check-up appointments so please be patient while we catch up with the back log.
Please remember that for dental emergencies you can contact the Practice, where we can advise you on the best course of action.
